Hi! I'm Silvia ☺︎ a developer, product strategist, and final-year student studying Computer Science, Communication Studies, and Design @ Northwestern.

I care deeply about how people experience technology; I believe that technology can be both powerful and approachable. This belief started when I watched my grandmother start to lose her hearing, and the ensuing struggle with hearing-assistive devices that were meant to help her. Seeing how complexity can isolate instead of empower shaped how I think about accessibility: not as a feature, but as a baseline.

Now, my work bridges engineering, strategy, and design. I've built software products that sit at the intersection of usability and performance, and I'm currently researching digital culture formation on decentralized social media. Specifically, how communities form meaning and norms in spaces freed from traditional algorithmic curation.

Outside of work, I'm usually baking, exploring furniture design, or capturing moments through my Canon Autoboy SII. Small reminders that craft and care always go hand in hand.
